Highbury lies in the London Borough of Islington, north of the City. On the map it is a close weave of Victorian terraces and garden squares, with Highbury Fields providing the largest open space: a long, green area just north of Highbury Corner. The main roads and railway lines around Highbury & Islington station frame the neighbourhood's southern edge.
For many people, Highbury means football. Arsenal played at the Highbury stadium from 1913 to 2006, before moving to the Emirates Stadium nearby.
