Indralaya is the seat of Ogan Ilir Regency in South Sumatra, about thirty-five kilometres south of Palembang. The land here is low and flat, shaped by rivers, seasonal swamps and lakes. The town is best known as the home of the main campus of Sriwijaya University, one of the largest state universities on Sumatra.
