Jungpyong, usually written Jeungpyeong, is the seat of a small county in North Chungcheong Province, in the centre of South Korea. It became a county of its own in 2003, having previously been part of Goesan. The town sits in a basin with streams running through it, and on the map it forms a tight urban centre surrounded by open farmland.
The built-up area mixes older low-rise streets with apartment complexes, whose blocks appear as regular rows of rectangles. Beyond them, rice paddies spread across the valley floor in orderly strips.
