River Kent
The river runs through the length of town and is crossed by several bridges, making it the spine of the poster and the reason for the town's long shape.

Kendal Map Poster & Print
Kendal follows the River Kent through a valley on the southern edge of the Lake District. On a map the town stretches north to south along the river, with the main street, Highgate running into Stricklandgate, parallel to the water and a series of bridges linking the two banks. Rising ground presses in from both sides, so the streets thin out quickly into fields and fells.
The town is often called the Auld Grey Town because of its limestone buildings, and its old yards, narrow passages running off the main street, show on the map as a fine comb of short lines. On a hill east of the river stand the ruins of Kendal Castle, and the town is well known for Kendal Mint Cake, long carried by walkers and climbers.
A Kendal map poster captures a town shaped by its river and its valley. The line of the Kent, the bridges and the combed yards make a composition that anyone who has walked in from the fells, or grown up here, will recognise straight away.

Kendal is where many people start or end a walk in the Lake District, and for those who live here it is simply home, the town between the fells and the sea. A clean street map suits both kinds of attachment, without leaning on the usual lake scenery.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a walking route or an anniversary date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
