Lākshām lies in Comilla District in south-eastern Bangladesh, on the low, flat plain between Comilla and Noakhali. It is best known as a railway junction: here the main line between Dhaka and Chittagong meets branches running towards Noakhali and Chandpur, and the tracks form the strongest lines on the map.
