Murcia lies in Negros Occidental, a short distance inland from Bacolod, on ground that rises gradually from the coastal plain toward the volcanic mass of Mount Kanlaon. The best-known place in Murcia is Mambukal, a mountain resort on the slopes of Kanlaon known for its hot sulphur springs, waterfalls and forest trails.
