Naissaar Map Poster & Print
Naissaar lies in the Gulf of Finland at the entrance to Tallinn Bay, a short boat trip from the Estonian capital. It is low and mostly forested, with sandy beaches, boulder-strewn shores and patches of heath. From above its outline is elongated and slightly irregular, and the interior is crossed by a network of forest roads and tracks.
For much of the twentieth century the island was a military site, and under Soviet rule it housed a naval base with a large mine-production facility. Many of those structures now stand abandoned in the woods, along with the remains of a narrow-gauge railway that once connected parts of the island.
Today Naissaar is protected as a nature park, and only a small number of people live there. A Naissaar map poster shows the island's quiet shape, its forest tracks and old routes, and the approaches to Tallinn Bay around it. It is a place of layered history and open woodland, both visible in the lines of the map.

Naissaar appeals to people from Tallinn, to those curious about Estonia's Soviet past and to anyone who has spent a quiet day in its forests. A map of the island is an understated nod to a place most visitors see only from the ferry.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, and you can choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir brings out the dense, dark forest of the interior.
