Pacaraima is a town in the state of Roraima, in the far north of Brazil, right on the border with Venezuela. It stands at the northern end of the BR-174 highway, which runs up from Manaus through Boa Vista. Just across the line lies the Venezuelan town of Santa Elena de Uairén, and on a map the two face each other across the frontier.
The town is built on higher ground in the Pacaraima range. Its streets follow the hilly terrain rather than a strict grid, and the highway serves as the main axis.
