Puqiakeqi lies in southern Xinjiang, in the belt of oases along the edge of the Tarim Basin near Hotan. From above, the settlement sits in a green, geometric landscape: fields divided by irrigation channels, straight tree-lined roads, and clusters of houses gathered along them.
