Southchase is a residential community in Orange County, Florida, south of central Orlando and near the main routes heading toward Kissimmee. It was developed as a planned suburb, and that shows immediately from above. There is no grid here. Streets curve into loops and end in cul-de-sacs, each neighbourhood feeding out onto a few collector roads.
Water is the other defining feature. Central Florida's flat, wet ground needs stormwater ponds, and Southchase has many of them.
