Sudbury Map Poster & Print
Sudbury sits on the River Stour in south Suffolk, close to the border with Essex. On a map, the compact historic centre lies on higher ground above the river, while to the west and south the Stour winds through broad water meadows that have been grazed as common land for centuries. Roads converge on the old market area from every direction.
The town is the birthplace of the painter Thomas Gainsborough, born here in 1727; his childhood home is now Gainsborough's House, a museum and gallery, and a statue of him stands on Market Hill. Sudbury prospered in the wool and cloth trade and later became known for silk weaving, a craft that continues in the town today.
A Sudbury map poster captures the closely packed streets around Market Hill, the churches of the old town, the river's curves and the open meadows beside them. The meadows give the print a calm, spacious side, balancing the density of the centre and recalling the landscape Gainsborough knew as a boy.

River Stour
The Stour winds along the western side of town in a series of loops and channels, marking the boundary with Essex beyond.
Common Lands
Sudbury's water meadows form a large open area along the river, still grazed and crossed by footpaths, appearing on the map as a wide, calm expanse.

Sudbury has a strong hold on those who know it: a hometown, a walk across the meadows, a visit to Gainsborough's House. A map of its streets and river keeps that connection in a clear and quietly elegant form.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a date or a family name, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as HD files for $9 or a matte print with optional frame.
