Valfréjus Map Poster & Print
Valfréjus lies in the Maurienne valley in Savoie, in the commune of Modane, close to the Italian border. From above, the resort sits in a narrow side valley, with its buildings grouped at the edge of the forest and the ski runs rising above the tree line toward the higher ridges. Below, Modane fills the floor of the main valley.
The area is best known on the map for the Fréjus tunnels, road and rail routes that pass under the mountains to Italy. Their approaches, along with the railway lines through Modane, make the main valley one of the busiest transport corridors in the Alps. Valfréjus, by contrast, is a quiet, compact resort.
A Valfréjus map poster brings together a small ski station and a major Alpine crossing. The forested side valley and the slopes above contrast with the network of roads and railways in the Maurienne below. It is a thoughtful print for anyone who has skied here, crossed into Italy through the Fréjus or has ties to Modane.
