Station centre
The high street crosses the railway at the station, and the shops cluster around this point. On the poster it is where the densest lines meet, the obvious centre of the town.

Wallington Map Poster & Print
Wallington is a suburban town in the London Borough of Sutton, in the south of Greater London. From above, it is a typical outer London pattern: a small shopping centre around the railway station, long residential streets of terraced and semi-detached houses, and larger green spaces on the edges. The railway line runs east to west through the town, and its bridge is the centre of local life.
To the north the land falls toward the River Wandle and the open spaces around Beddington, including Beddington Park. Wallington grew mainly with the railway in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and much of its street plan dates from that period, when the suburbs of south London expanded quickly along the new lines.
A Wallington map poster shows that suburban order clearly: the straight line of the railway, the grid of residential streets fanning out on either side, and the looser green patches to the north. It is an unassuming place, but its map has a pleasing regularity that works well in the Classic and Paper styles.

Residential streets
Long, straight roads of Victorian and interwar housing extend north and south of the railway. They create a regular, even texture typical of London's outer suburbs.
Toward the Wandle
North of the town the streets give way to parkland around Beddington and the River Wandle. These open areas give the map a quiet edge and a sense of breathing space.

Wallington is where many south London families set up home, and where plenty of commuters have spent years walking the same streets to the station. A map of it is a modest, fitting gift for a first home or a leaving present.
