Adwick le Street Map Poster & Print
Adwick le Street lies a few miles north of Doncaster in South Yorkshire. Like many places in the area, it grew with coal. Rows of terraced and semi-detached houses spread out from an older village centre, and railway lines crossed the landscape to serve the mines and link the region to Leeds and beyond.
Its medieval parish church of St Laurence contains a memorial to members of the Washington family, ancestors of the first American president. That link to transatlantic history sits quietly among streets that mostly belong to the twentieth century.
An Adwick le Street map poster shows these layers clearly. The irregular old lanes near the church, the planned estates added around them and the confident lines of the railway all have their place on the sheet. Farmland at the edges keeps the composition open and grounded.

Housing estates
Twentieth-century streets of crescents and closes surround the core. They form a more regular, planned pattern on the map.
Railway lines
Rail routes cut across the area in long clean curves, a reminder of the coal era and the town's connection to the wider network.
