Linked quarters
The town is made of several built-up areas joined by roads, not one continuous block. On the map they read as connected clusters with open ground between them.

Afikpo Map Poster & Print
Afikpo lies in the south of Ebonyi State in southeastern Nigeria, in a landscape of low hills, farmland and scattered villages. The town is less a single dense grid than a group of connected settlements. Roads link its quarters and run out to the surrounding communities, and the pattern loosens steadily away from the centre.
The Cross River and its floodplain lie to the east, and the wider area is known for farming, especially yams, rice and other staples. Afikpo is also known in Nigeria for its masquerade traditions, performed at festivals and during coming-of-age ceremonies. The town's institutions, markets and churches serve a wide surrounding district.
An Afikpo map poster shows a town that grew from linked communities, not from one plan. There is a central area, roads reaching out to villages and open farmland between them. In monochrome it becomes a network of fine lines on a quiet background. It makes a personal piece for people from Afikpo and the wider Ebonyi region.

Village roads
Roads spread from the centre toward nearby communities. Their branching pattern covers much of the poster and shows how the district fits together.
Open farmland
Large unlined areas stand for fields and bush between settlements. They give the map room and reflect the agricultural life of the area.
