Al Marj Map Poster & Print
Al Marj lies on a broad, fertile plain in the Jebel Akhdar highlands of north-eastern Libya, inland from the Mediterranean coast. On a map, the town looks more orderly than many older settlements in the region. Its main streets are straight and wide, and its blocks are regular. Roads run out across the surrounding farmland toward Benghazi and the other towns of Cyrenaica.
The place has deep roots. In antiquity it was known as Barce, a Greek foundation in the region of Cyrene. In 1963 a strong earthquake severely damaged the old town, and a new town was later built nearby. That rebuilding explains much of the planned character visible from above.
An Al Marj map poster records a town shaped by a clear moment of renewal. The regular streets give it a calm, measured look, and the open plain around it leaves generous white space in the design. It is a quiet composition. Its interest lies in balance and proportion rather than intricacy, which suits a minimalist print.

For people from Al Marj or with family across Cyrenaica, this map is a steady reminder of home and of a town that rebuilt itself. It works well in a study or a living room where a calm, graphic piece is wanted.
You can set the title and subtitle in your own words, for example a family name and a date, and keep the coordinates as a subtle line. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand echoes the plateau landscape.
