Alaghsas Map Poster & Print
Alaghsas sits in the Agadez region of northern Niger, where the Sahel gives way to the Sahara. From above, the town looks like a loose cluster of compounds and walled yards. Its streets are more often packed sand than paved road. The built area thins out quickly at its edges, and beyond it the land opens into wide, pale ground marked only by tracks and the odd line of vegetation.
A map of this part of Niger has few drawn lines, and that is what gives each one weight. Seasonal watercourses, dry for most of the year, cut shallow paths across the plain. Roads run long and straight toward distant towns. On an Alaghsas map poster those sparse lines make up the whole composition: a small knot of streets held in a great deal of quiet white space.
The Agadez region is the largest in Niger and covers much of the country's desert north, including the Aïr Mountains and old caravan routes that once linked the Sahel with North Africa. Places here are defined as much by distance as by density. A print of Alaghsas keeps that sense of scale, showing how a community organises itself in a landscape where every road and well matters.

Dry watercourses
Shallow seasonal channels cross the surrounding plain. They carry water only briefly each year, but on the map they add soft, branching lines to an otherwise open field.
Desert roads
A few long routes leave town and run almost straight toward the horizon. They show how far apart places are in Niger's north and how much depends on each connection.

A map of Alaghsas is mostly space, and that restraint is what makes it striking on a wall. It suits someone with family roots in the Agadez region, or anyone who has worked or travelled in the Sahel and wants to remember the place accurately.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line yourself, adding a family name or a date that matters. Choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand in particular echoes the colours of the landscape.
