Ridge-following streets
Roads trace the high ground and the valley bottoms, bending with the terrain. Neighbourhoods appear as separate clusters joined by these curves rather than one continuous block pattern.

An Nimas Map Poster & Print
An Nimas lies in the Asir Region of southwestern Saudi Arabia, in the mountain country of the Sarawat range. Its setting shapes the map more than any plan could. Streets follow ridgelines and valley floors, neighbourhoods sit on terraces and spurs, and main roads curve to keep their gradient. The result is a set of irregular clusters linked by winding routes rather than a single dense centre.
The town sits at high elevation, which gives it a milder climate than the lowlands to the west, where the mountains drop steeply toward the Red Sea coast. Terraced fields have long been part of farming life in this region, and their stepped outlines often show where settlement meets open slopes.
Rendered in simple linework, the An Nimas map poster turns rugged terrain into a pattern of curving roads and scattered street clusters, with open space where the slopes are too steep to build on. It is a quieter, more fragmented picture than a lowland city grid, and that fragmentation is its character.

Mountain approaches
Routes into town climb and wind through the Sarawat range. Their tight, looping curves give the edges of the map a strong sense of movement.
Terraced edges
Where building stops, the land opens into slopes and valleys. Stepped farm terraces, common across the Asir highlands, mark the transition from town to mountain.
