Apartadó Map Poster & Print
Apartadó lies on the flat lowlands of Urabá in north-western Antioquia, a short distance inland from the Gulf of Urabá. On a map, the city is a fairly regular grid that has grown quickly along the main highway, surrounded by plantations that stretch across the plain in almost every direction.
Banana farms define the landscape. The plantations are divided into long rectangular blocks by straight farm tracks and drainage canals, creating a precise geometric pattern around the city. The Apartadó River flows through the area towards the gulf, and the forested foothills of the Serranía de Abibe rise to the east.
The city is a commercial centre of the Urabá banana region, one of the main export regions in Colombia. An Apartadó map poster shows the place clearly from above, with the dense urban grid at the centre and the striking plantation pattern surrounding it.

Drainage canals
Straight channels drain the wet lowlands between the plots. They add fine parallel lines across the landscape.
Main highway
The regional road runs through the city and connects the towns of Urabá. It forms the spine along which Apartadó has grown.
