Åsane's western and northern edges meet the fjords around Bergen. The coastline is irregular and indented, giving the poster a detailed edge of inlets and headlands.

Åsane Map Poster & Print
Åsane forms the northern part of Bergen on Norway's west coast. It is a district shaped by terrain. Residential neighbourhoods fill the valleys and lower slopes, forested hills rise between them, and the edges run down to fjord water on the west and north. On a map, the built-up areas look like islands of streets separated by stretches of steep, green ground.
Åsane was a municipality in its own right until 1972, when it was merged into Bergen. Since then it has grown into one of the city's largest boroughs. It is home to a major shopping centre and several residential districts linked by the E39 highway, which runs north through the area toward the coast.
An Åsane map poster captures this fragmented, landscape-driven pattern. Curving residential roads wrap around hills, lakes sit in the hollows and the shoreline is ragged against the fjord. In monochrome the land and water separate clearly, and the district's distinctive shape comes through in a way that a street map rarely shows.

Hill-bound neighbourhoods
Housing areas sit in valleys and on lower slopes, with steep forested ground in between. The result is a map of separate clusters rather than one continuous town.
The E39 corridor
The main highway runs through the district from south to north. It acts as a spine linking the neighbourhoods and connects Åsane with central Bergen.
