Bad Laasphe Map Poster & Print
Bad Laasphe lies in the Wittgenstein area of southern Westphalia, where the Lahn is still a small river winding through forested hills near the Rothaar mountains. The town is a compact old centre of half-timbered houses on the valley floor. Roads run out along side valleys, and a lot of woodland shows up on every side of the map.
Above the town stands Schloss Wittgenstein, long the seat of the princes of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein. It gives the map a clear high point. The Lahn and the railway follow the valley together, and the older streets gather close to the river. Newer housing has climbed the lower slopes, which you can see in the more open street pattern at the edges.
A Bad Laasphe map poster reflects a town shaped almost entirely by its valley. The river, the castle hill and the surrounding forest define where streets could go. Spa guests, hikers on nearby trails and families from Wittgenstein will recognise the setting straight away, and the dense old centre looks particularly good in fine black linework.

Castle hill
Schloss Wittgenstein sits on the heights above the town, historically the residence of the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein princes.
Half-timbered core
The small old town keeps a tight cluster of lanes and closely set buildings, the densest part of an otherwise wooded map.

Bad Laasphe means spa stays, forest walks and slow weekends in the Wittgenstein hills for many visitors, and home for others. A map of its valley is a quiet reminder of that landscape.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a spa visit or wedding date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir brings the winding river line to the fore.
