Balāţah Map Poster & Print
Balāţah lies on the eastern side of Nablus, in the valley that runs between Mount Gerizim to the south and Mount Ebal to the north. On a map it stands out immediately for its density: blocks are small, streets are narrow, and alleys cut through the fabric in fine lines. Around it, larger roads and more open areas make the contrast even sharper.
The name covers both the old village of Balata and the refugee camp established beside it in 1950, which is among the largest in the West Bank. Close by are Tell Balata, the archaeological site identified with ancient Shechem, and the site traditionally known as Jacob's Well. Few places of this size hold so many layers of the past within such a small area.
A Balāţah map poster is defined by grain rather than landmarks. The closely woven street pattern fills the frame with texture, while the slopes of the two mountains are suggested by roads curving along their lower flanks. Printed in monochrome, the map becomes a detailed, almost textile image of a place where space is scarce and every lane counts.

Valley between mountains
Balāţah sits in the pass between Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal, and the roads along the valley floor and lower slopes follow that natural corridor.
Tell Balata
The archaeological mound identified with ancient Shechem lies nearby, an open space on the map that contrasts sharply with the dense streets around it.
