Barcarena Map Poster & Print
Barcarena lies on the southern side of the wide waters of Guajará Bay and the Pará River, across from Belém in the Amazon estuary. The municipality is a mix of rivers, channels, islands and floodplain forest. On a map the water takes up almost as much space as the land, and roads have to find their way between creeks and inlets.
The town centre is compact, while much of the modern growth sits further out. Vila dos Cabanos and the port of Vila do Conde grew around one of Brazil's largest aluminium and alumina industrial complexes. Long piers, industrial sites and planned streets contrast sharply with the irregular natural outlines of the riverbanks.
A Barcarena map poster shows a landscape that is both industrial and deeply Amazonian. Ferries and boats link the town to Belém and the nearby islands. At this scale the broad estuary becomes the main subject, a wide, calm surface of water with the town drawn along its edge.

Vila do Conde port
Industrial piers and port facilities reach into the water as straight lines, a strong geometric contrast to the natural river outlines.
Channels and islands
Narrow creeks and forested islands scatter across the municipality, giving the poster a detailed, water-rich pattern typical of the lower Amazon.
