Barra da Estiva Map Poster & Print
Barra da Estiva sits at the southern end of the Chapada Diamantina, the high, broken uplands of central Bahia. The town occupies relatively level ground among ridges and serras, and on a map its streets form a compact cluster with roads climbing away between the hills. The altitude gives it a cooler climate than much of the Bahian interior, and farming shapes the surrounding land.
The highlands around the town feed several watercourses, and the Paraguaçu, one of the major rivers of Bahia, rises in this part of the Chapada. On paper those streams appear as thin, branching lines threading through the relief, a delicate counterpoint to the tight geometry of the town. It is a landscape that rewards the wider frame of a larger print size.
A Barra da Estiva map poster sets the ordered streets of the centre against this irregular terrain, where roads must find their way around slopes and valleys. Travellers heading into the Chapada often pass through the area, and for them the map becomes a reminder of the southern gateway to the uplands, while for residents it is simply the shape of home.

Headwater streams
Small rivers and streams branch through the surrounding uplands, part of the headwater country of the Paraguaçu, and appear as fine lines weaving between the ridges.
Roads through the serras
Routes leaving town bend around slopes and follow valleys, drawing long curving strokes that trace how the land itself steers movement through the Chapada.
