Basyūn Map Poster & Print
Basyūn lies in Gharbia Governorate, in the middle of Egypt's Nile Delta. The delta is some of the most intensively farmed land in the world, and from above the town appears as a dense cluster of streets in a patchwork of small fields. Canals and irrigation channels run through the landscape, and the roads often follow them in long, gently curving lines.
Inside the town the street pattern is close and irregular, as it often is in delta settlements that grew over time rather than to a single plan. Narrow lanes connect to a few wider roads that lead out to neighbouring villages and to the larger cities of the region. The edges are defined as much by the fields as by any boundary.
A Basyūn map poster shows the delta as it really is: a close web of streets, a clear line of water, and the geometric pattern of agricultural plots around it. Even without colour, the map makes it easy to read how water, farming and settlement fit together in this part of Egypt.

Dense town core
The centre is a tight, irregular network of streets and lanes, the darkest part of the print and a sign of a town that has grown steadily over generations.
Field patchwork
Around the town, small agricultural plots form a mosaic of shapes, a quieter texture that frames the settlement and extends out to the edges of the map.
