Belford Roxo Map Poster & Print
Belford Roxo is one of the municipalities of the Baixada Fluminense, the flat lowland north of Rio de Janeiro. It became a separate municipality in 1990, after splitting off from Nova Iguaçu. From above, it is a continuous spread of residential streets with no single centre, filling the space between its larger neighbours.
The land here is low and flat, crossed by small rivers and drainage channels that run toward Guanabara Bay. Their winding lines are the main natural features on the map, cutting across blocks that are otherwise laid out in short, closely packed rows. Main roads run through in long, gentle curves and join the city to the rest of the metropolitan region.
A commuter rail branch from central Rio ends at Belford Roxo, and the neighbourhoods around the stations are among the densest parts of the city. A Belford Roxo map poster shows this fine, even texture of streets, the loose curves of the channels and the rail line, in a way that brings out a part of greater Rio that rarely appears on postcards.

Rivers and channels
Small rivers and drainage channels wind across the lowland toward the bay. Their curving lines are the main break in the street pattern.
Rail branch
The suburban railway from Rio ends here, and its line can be traced across the map, with streets and neighbourhoods clustered around the stations.

For people who grew up in Belford Roxo or still have family there, a map is a way to see a familiar place as a whole, street by street. It makes a thoughtful housewarming gift or a reminder for someone who has moved away.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be edited, so you can name a bairro or add a meaningful date. Choose one of five styles; Classic black & white keeps the dense grid sharp, and Sand gives it a warmer tone.
