Birnin Kudu Map Poster & Print
Birnin Kudu lies in the south of Jigawa State in northern Nigeria, in savanna country broken by rounded granite hills and rock outcrops. It is one of the older settlements of the area. From above, it shows a dense traditional core of compounds and lanes, with newer streets extending outward along the main roads.
The rocks around Birnin Kudu are known for their ancient rock paintings, including images of cattle. Archaeologists have studied them, and they make the site one of the notable heritage places of northern Nigeria. The town also has a Federal Medical Centre that serves a wide surrounding area.
A Birnin Kudu map poster captures the contrast between the tight, irregular pattern of the old town and the broad, open landscape beyond. Outcrops and seasonal watercourses break up the surrounding farmland, and roads run out across the savanna toward neighbouring towns, giving the composition a clear sense of scale and direction.

Granite outcrops
Rounded rock hills rise from the plain near the town and break up the pattern of fields. This is the landscape where ancient rock art has been recorded.
Roads across savanna
Main roads leave town in several directions as straight lines across open country. They give the composition structure and connect Birnin Kudu to the wider state.
