Bogra Map Poster & Print
Bogra, also spelled Bogura, is a major city in northern Bangladesh and a road and trade hub for the region. On a map it lies along the Karatoya river, a narrow, winding channel that runs through the city from north to south. The dense centre spreads outward in low, closely packed streets.
The city's centre is Satmatha, a junction where several roads meet and the city seems to turn around a single point. Just north of Bogra is Mahasthangarh, one of the oldest archaeological sites in the country and the remains of the ancient city of Pundranagara. Bogra is also known across Bangladesh for its yoghurt, known as doi.
A Bogra map poster shows the river, the central junction and the roads that lead out across the flat, fertile countryside. The fine texture of the streets against the open land makes a calm, readable image, with the location of an ancient settlement just beyond the edge of the modern city.
