Boppard Map Poster & Print
Boppard lies on the left bank of the Rhine in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. Here the river makes its largest loop, the Bopparder Hamm, curving in a broad bend that is the most memorable shape on any map of the town. Vineyards climb the steep slopes on the outside of the bend.
The old town stretches along the riverbank, with a promenade, quays and the railway following the water. Boppard has Roman roots, and sections of the walls of the late Roman fort still stand in the town centre. Above it, a chairlift climbs to the Gedeonseck viewpoint, from which the curves of the Rhine appear to break into separate lakes.
A Boppard map poster shows the loop in full: the river bending around a tongue of land, the town laid along one bank, and roads winding up into the Hunsrück heights. Few places in Germany have such a clear and elegant shape from above.

Roman fort walls
Remains of the late Roman fort walls survive in the old town, a reminder that Boppard's street plan rests on a very old settlement.
Riverside old town
Streets, quays and the railway line run parallel to the Rhine, giving Boppard a long, narrow town centre along the water.

A map of Boppard is a fine souvenir of a Rhine trip, a hike on the valley trails or a family home in the town. The river loop alone makes it one of the most graphic small-town posters.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with the date of a wedding by the Rhine, and choose from five styles. Get six print sizes as PNG and PDF for $9, or a matte poster with optional frame.
