Bowangshan Map Poster & Print
Bowangshan is in the far south of Sichuan Province, in hilly country near the border with Yunnan and Guizhou. The land is uneven, with ridges, valleys and slopes that people have farmed for a very long time. On a map, the town's streets follow the shape of the ground, and the built-up area gathers on the more level land.
Roads here rarely run straight. They climb in switchbacks and bend along the contours, linking the town with scattered villages and farms in the hills. Rivers and streams cut through the valleys, and farmland is fitted wherever the slopes allow. The overall effect is a landscape of irregular, organic lines rather than planned blocks.
A Bowangshan map poster turns this hill country into a drawing of flowing, uneven lines. It is not a map of famous monuments. It is a map of how a town fits into steep, working land. For anyone with family in this part of Sichuan, it is a personal and exact reminder of a place that is seldom shown elsewhere.

Valley streams
Small rivers and streams run through the valleys between ridges. They mark the lowest ground and guide where roads and houses are placed.
Town on level ground
The densest streets gather on the flatter land. The town forms a compact area of detail surrounded by more open, hilly countryside.
