Small clusters of irregular streets mark the historic centres of Brackel and neighbouring localities. They stand out against the more regular estates built around them.

Brackel Map Poster
Brackel is a district on the eastern side of Dortmund, and its map reads as a series of former villages that grew together. Small older cores with irregular streets are surrounded by later housing estates, allotment gardens and patches of woodland and fields. Brackel feels less dense than the inner city to the west.
The district lies along the Hellweg, a medieval trade route that once ran across Westphalia. Brackel itself has a long history as a royal estate from the early Middle Ages. Main roads and a light rail line connect it with central Dortmund and give the map strong east–west axes.
A Brackel map poster shows that suburban Ruhr pattern: curving residential streets, long straight main roads and generous green gaps between neighbourhoods. It is a portrait of a part of Dortmund where many people actually live, not the postcard centre.

East–west corridors
Main roads and the light rail line run towards central Dortmund, forming clear horizontal lines that tie the district to the rest of the city.
Green gaps
Parks, allotments, woodland and open fields separate the built-up areas and give the map breathing space typical of Dortmund's outer districts.

ඇයි Brackel
අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
For people from Brackel, the district is home within the larger city: its own streets, its own old centre, its own daily routes. A map of it is more personal than a general view of Dortmund.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed, for example to add your street or the year you moved in. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
