A broad east–west avenue of lawns and ministries that ends at the Three Powers Plaza. On paper it is the fuselage of the plan, the line everything else is measured against.

Brasília Map Poster & Print
Few capitals were planned as completely as Brasília. Lúcio Costa's Plano Piloto, built in the late 1950s and inaugurated in 1960, reads on a map like an aircraft or a bird: a straight Monumental Axis running east to west, crossed by a long arc of residential wings to the north and south. Nothing about the layout is accidental, and from above that intention is still perfectly legible.
Along the wings, the superquadras repeat in a steady rhythm, each block of apartments set among green space and served by its own local streets. The Eixo Rodoviário, the fast road down the spine of the arc, draws the longest unbroken line on the sheet. At the eastern tip of the axis sits the Praça dos Três Poderes, framed by the government buildings Oscar Niemeyer designed.
Lake Paranoá, an artificial reservoir, wraps around the eastern side of the plan and gives the composition its softest edge, with bridges and lakeside districts on the far shore. A Brasília map poster captures a modernist experiment that UNESCO recognised as World Heritage in 1987, rendered as clean linework where the original drawing and the built city are almost the same thing.

Superquadra wings
The curved Asa Sul and Asa Norte carry repeating residential blocks in neat modules, a pattern that turns into a fine, even texture when printed in black and white.
Lake Paranoá
The reservoir's branching arms fill the eastern part of the frame with open space, crossed by bridges and bordered by lower-density neighbourhoods on its outer shores.

ඇයි Brasília
අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
Architects, designers and anyone who has lived in the Plano Piloto tend to recognise this outline instantly. It works as a portrait of an idea as much as of a city, and it sits comfortably in a study or studio where plans and drawings are already part of the room.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a moving date, and a coordinates line, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits this plan especially well. Download the HD files for $9 or order a matte print, framed if you like.
