Ridgeline roads
The main routes follow the tops of the ridges instead of cutting across valleys, so the road network traces the hills and gives the map its loose, branching look.

Bushenge Map Poster & Print
Bushenge sits in the hills of Rwanda's Western Province, above the eastern shore of Lake Kivu. From above there is no grid here. Roads follow ridgelines and wrap around the contours, so the street pattern looks like thread laid loosely over folded ground. Where the slopes flatten out, buildings gather into a small centre, then thin out again into scattered plots and farmland.
The region around Bushenge is known for its steep, green hillsides and its closeness to the lake, which marks the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. On a map this shows up as a web of short, winding lanes. Nothing runs straight for long, and every turn in the road points to the terrain it has to cross.
A Bushenge map poster keeps only the roads and paths, drawn in fine black lines on a pale ground. Without the colour of the hills, what remains is how the place moves: routes that climb, switch back and meet on the few level patches. It is a quiet, precise picture of a town shaped almost entirely by its landscape.

Contour-shaped lanes
Smaller lanes curl around the slopes in tight bends. At poster scale they read almost like contour lines, showing where the ground rises and drops.
Toward Lake Kivu
West of town the land falls toward Lake Kivu, one of the African Great Lakes. Roads head downhill in that direction and hint at the shoreline just past the town.

අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
People who were born in Bushenge, who worked here, or who once drove its hill roads often want something more personal than a photograph. A map of the streets they know brings back the town's shape without spelling anything out, and it sits easily in a home far from Rwanda.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example with a family name or the year you arrived. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It comes as a $9 digital file or as a printed poster on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
