Byaroza Map Poster & Print
Byaroza, also known as Bereza, is a town in the Brest Region of south-western Belarus. It lies on the Yasyelda River at the northern edge of Polesia, a wide, low region of rivers, wetlands and forest. Its best-known historic landmark is the ruin of the Carthusian monastery founded here in the seventeenth century, which gave the town its older name, Bereza Kartuzskaya.
On a map, the town stretches along the river, with the old centre on one side and residential districts of houses and apartment blocks around it. The Yasyelda winds through slowly, with small bends and backwaters, and the main road from Brest to Minsk runs close by. Beyond the town, the land is very flat and divided into fields and drainage channels, and wetlands start to appear towards the south.
A Byaroza map poster pairs a small town with a big landscape. The river curve, the monastery grounds and the straight lines of drained farmland produce a quiet, balanced image. It is well suited to people from the Brest region and anyone interested in the history of Polesia.

Monastery ruins
The remains of the seventeenth-century Carthusian monastery stand at the edge of the town, a historic site that shaped both its layout and its name.
Drained Polesian fields
Around Byaroza, straight drainage ditches and rectangular fields cross the flat land, a pattern typical of reclaimed wetland in southern Belarus.
