Carlos A. Carrillo Map Poster & Print
Carlos A. Carrillo is a town in southern Veracruz, Mexico, on the lower Papaloapan River near Cosamaloapan. The surrounding plain is sugar cane country, and life in the town has long revolved around its large sugar mill. On a map it forms a compact grid of streets beside the river, with cane fields stretching away in every other direction.
The Papaloapan is the dominant feature, a broad river curving past the town in wide meanders that dwarf the street blocks. Field roads divide the flat land into long rectangles, and the mill complex shows as a large industrial footprint at the edge of the grid. Water, industry and farmland together give the map a clear story.
A Carlos A. Carrillo map poster is a thoughtful piece for anyone connected to the town, the mill or the Papaloapan basin. The strong river line and regular grid make an effective print at any size. It looks particularly good in Blueprint, where the water and streets read like an engineering drawing.
