Castelo do Piauí Map Poster & Print
Castelo do Piauí is a municipality in the interior of the state of Piauí, in north-eastern Brazil. From above, the town is a modest, fairly regular grid of streets, with larger blocks and open lots at the edges and a few roads running out into the surrounding countryside. Beyond the town, the land is dry, with scrub vegetation and rocky elevations.
The region lies in the semi-arid interior of the Northeast, where rainfall is seasonal and many rivers flow only part of the year. Around Castelo do Piauí, rock formations and uplands are part of the landscape, and the name itself suggests the castle-like shapes of the local stone.
A Castelo do Piauí map poster shows a small interior town surrounded by space. The central grid gives the print a solid core, while the open land, seasonal streams and rural roads keep the rest of the frame light. It is a simple, honest portrait of a town in the Brazilian sertão.
