Canal network
Straight canals cross the commune and link toward Dunkirk's port. They draw clean parallel lines through the street pattern and give the map its strongest structure.

Coudekerque-Branche Map Poster & Print
Coudekerque-Branche sits directly against Dunkirk on the coastal plain of French Flanders, and on a map the boundary between the two is hard to see. Streets run in tight residential blocks. Rail corridors, industrial plots and the straight lines of canals break them up, and the canals carry water across the low ground toward the sea.
The land here belongs to the wateringues, the drained lowlands of the Flemish coast. There, a network of channels and pumps has kept fields and towns dry for centuries. That engineering shows clearly from above: long, ruler-straight waterways, bridges at regular intervals, and open plots of former marsh between the built-up areas.
Rendered in black and white, a Coudekerque-Branche map poster reads as a study of lines. The canals become crisp double strokes, the rail yards dense bands, and the housing estates a fine, even texture. It is a quiet, geometric picture of a working town in the Dunkirk conurbation, closer in spirit to an engineering drawing than to a postcard.

Drained lowland
The town lies within the wateringues of the Flemish coast, flat reclaimed ground where drainage channels, not hills, decided where roads and houses could be built.
Edge of Dunkirk
Its streets merge with those of Dunkirk to the north, so the frame captures a piece of a larger conurbation rather than an isolated town centre.

For people who grew up around Dunkirk, this map carries the familiar logic of canal bridges and rail crossings that shape daily routes. It suits a hallway or a study, where its geometry can be read up close.
You can set your own title, add a date such as a move or a wedding, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint in particular suits a town shaped by water engineering.
