Dachang Map Poster & Print
Dachang is a town within Baoshan District, on the northwestern side of Shanghai. Like much of the city, it lies on the flat ground of the Yangtze delta, and from above it is a dense, busy mix of residential compounds, industrial plots, arterial roads and the small creeks and channels that once drained the delta farmland.
Over recent decades the area has been absorbed into the wider metropolis, with high-rise estates and new roads laid over a landscape that was once rural. The resulting map reflects that layering: large rectangular blocks, long straight avenues, and occasional older waterways bending through the modern grid.
A Dachang map poster suits anyone who knows this part of Shanghai at street level. Removed from the scale of the city as a whole, the district's own pattern stands out, a repeating rhythm of blocks and lanes crossed by the curving line of a creek.

Residential compounds
Large gated estates take up much of the area. On the map they appear as big blocks with internal lanes, a distinctive texture of modern Shanghai.
Arterial roads
Wide avenues and elevated routes cross the district, connecting it to central Shanghai, and form the bold framework around which the smaller streets are arranged.
