The Ganges bank
The river runs along one side of the town, broad and braided, with sandbars and side channels. It takes up a large share of the frame and gives the poster its defining shape.

Dhuliān Map Poster & Print
Dhuliān is a municipality in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, on the left bank of the Ganges not far from the border with Bangladesh. On a map, the river dominates everything. The town appears as a compact mass of narrow lanes and closely packed blocks, pressed up against a broad band of water with sandbars and channels that change from season to season.
That changing river is also the town's best-known story. The bank here has suffered serious erosion over the past decades, and parts of older settlements have been lost to the Ganges. Dhuliān is also known as part of the region's bidi industry, where hand-rolled cigarettes provide work for many households. A map captures the town at a single moment, with the river's current line fixed on paper.
A Dhuliān map poster shows the contrast between the tight, organic street pattern and the open expanse of river beside it. Inland, lanes thin out into village roads and farmland on the Bengal plain. In Noir or Blueprint the river becomes a strong solid shape, while in Paper or Sand the fine lanes of the town read more softly.

Tightly packed lanes
The centre is a dense network of short, irregular streets and alleys rather than a planned grid. At larger print sizes this texture becomes one of the most striking parts of the map.
Plain and villages
Away from the river, the town fades into roads, ponds and field boundaries typical of the flat Bengal plain, with nearby villages forming small clusters of their own.
