Branching lanes
Small roads split and rejoin across the landscape and reach individual homesteads. On the poster this creates a fine, organic web that covers the whole frame evenly.

Edacchēri Map Poster & Print
Edacchēri lies in Kozhikode district in northern Kerala, between the coast and the foothills of the Western Ghats. Like much of this part of Kerala, it does not have a sharp boundary between town and village. Houses spread across the landscape in a continuous pattern, each set in its own garden of coconut palms and trees.
The map reflects that. There is no dense grid. Instead, roads and lanes branch and wind across gently rolling ground, following ridges and field edges. A main road carries most of the traffic, and small junctions and shop clusters form local centres. Streams and paddy land fill the lower ground between the rises.
An Edacchēri map poster captures this characteristic Malabar pattern: a fine, branching network of lanes spread evenly over the land, with no single centre dominating. The result is a delicate, almost leaf-like composition that looks very different from a conventional town plan.

Main road spine
A main road carries traffic through the area and links local junctions. It gives the delicate lane network a stronger line to organise around.
Low-lying fields
Streams and paddy land occupy the lower ground between settled ridges. These open strips add breathing space to the dense pattern of lanes and houses.

Many people from northern Kerala live far from home, in the Gulf, in other Indian cities or abroad. A map of Edacchēri's lanes keeps the family house and the surrounding neighbourhood close.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name, a house name or Kozhikode. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
