Desert surroundings
Open ground surrounds the town on all sides, leaving wide empty space on the map that frames the built area and makes its outline unusually clear.

El Hadjira Map Poster & Print
El Hadjira lies in the Ouargla region of the Algerian Sahara, one of the settlements of the northern desert where life has long depended on groundwater and date palms. From above, the town appears as a compact block of streets set within a wide, almost empty landscape. Its edges are defined less by rivers or hills than by the line where built ground gives way to sand and cultivated plots.
Like many towns in the region, El Hadjira combines an older, denser core with newer neighbourhoods laid out on straighter lines. Palm groves and gardens surround parts of the settlement, their irrigated plots forming a finer texture on the map than the open desert beyond. Roads leave the town in long straight lines towards neighbouring oases, emphasising how far apart settlements are in this part of Algeria.
An El Hadjira map poster works through contrast. Most of the frame is quiet, and the streets in the centre carry all the detail, so the town reads as a concentrated shape in a large field. In a minimalist style this spareness becomes the point, a portrait of a place built around shade, water and closeness.

Oasis gardens
Cultivated plots and palm groves near the town create a finer pattern of small parcels, marking where irrigation makes farming possible in the dry landscape.
Long straight roads
Highways leave El Hadjira in straight lines across the plain, connecting it to other settlements in the Ouargla region and giving the composition strong directional lines.
