Planned grid
The town's streets form a regular pattern of blocks on the flat plain, typical of a town planned in one piece rather than grown slowly over time.

El Pedregal Map Poster & Print
El Pedregal is a town on the Pampa de Majes in the Arequipa region of southern Peru. It grew with the Majes irrigation project, which brought water from the Andes to turn a stony, arid plain into farmland. The town is now the main urban centre of Majes district and a trading hub for the farms around it.
That history shows clearly on the map. The town is laid out as a regular planned grid on flat ground. Around it, the irrigated land is divided into neat rectangular plots, and irrigation canals run in straight lines. At the edges, the patterns stop abruptly where the desert begins.
An El Pedregal map poster is a picture of a town that was deliberately built. The order of its grid, the patchwork of fields and the empty desert beyond give it a graphic, almost diagrammatic look that works especially well in Blueprint or Sand.

Irrigated plots
The farmland around the town is divided into regular rectangular parcels. They form a precise, repeating texture across a large part of the map.
Desert margin
Where irrigation ends, the plain returns to desert. The sharp line between cultivated land and empty ground gives the poster a strong edge.
