El Tigre Map Poster & Print
El Tigre sits on the high, flat tableland of the Mesa de Guanipa in southern Anzoátegui, in eastern Venezuela. The terrain is almost level in every direction, and no major river or hill interrupts the streets. From above, the city forms a broad patch of regular blocks surrounded by savanna, scrub and the tracks of oilfield roads.
The town grew rapidly in the 1930s after oil was found in the area. It remains a service centre for the oil industry of eastern Venezuela and the Orinoco Belt to the south. That origin shows in the map: long, straight avenues, wide blocks planned for growth, and highways heading out toward neighbouring towns such as San José de Guanipa, which almost touches El Tigre.
An El Tigre map poster puts structure ahead of scenery. With no coast or river to frame it, the picture depends on the rhythm of the street grid and on the way the city's edge fades into open land. The result is a clean, graphic image of a place that was built quickly and on purpose, in a landscape with few natural limits.

Planned avenues
Long, straight avenues cross the city and continue out as highways. They divide it into large, regular sectors that read clearly at every poster size.
Twin town
San José de Guanipa lies right beside El Tigre, and the two built-up areas nearly merge. On a wider frame they form one larger urban shape.
