Bastioned outline
The old fortification line, with its star-shaped bastions and moats, still surrounds much of the town. It gives the map a sharp, geometric edge.

Enkhuizen Map Poster & Print
Enkhuizen sits on a point of land in North Holland where the IJsselmeer and Markermeer meet. In the seventeenth century it was one of the main ports of the Zuiderzee and home to a chamber of the Dutch East India Company. The town still has the compact layout of that period, with canals, quays and harbour basins cutting deep into the streets.
On a map, the old town is surrounded by the angular outline of its former fortifications, with bastions and moats that remain easy to see. The Drommedaris, a round tower from the sixteenth century, guards the harbour entrance. Just outside the centre, the Zuiderzeemuseum occupies part of the waterfront. The long Houtribdijk runs from Enkhuizen towards Lelystad, dividing the two lakes.
An Enkhuizen map poster is dominated by water: harbour arms, canals, and the wide open lake around the edge. Its fortified shape and the straight line of the dike make the composition easy to recognise, even at a glance.

Harbour basins
Several harbours reach into the heart of Enkhuizen, lined by quays and old warehouses. They break the street pattern into distinctive blocks of land and water.
Houtribdijk
This long dike heads out from the town across the water towards Lelystad. On the poster it is a striking straight line leading off the edge of the frame.
