Ennepetal Map Poster & Print
Ennepetal lies in the Ennepe-Ruhr district of North Rhine-Westphalia, on the southern edge of the Ruhr area, where the land rises into wooded hills. The town was formed in 1949 by combining the communities of Milspe and Voerde. It takes its name from the Ennepe River, which runs through it.
This gives the map an unusual, elongated shape. Much of the town follows the valley floor, with roads, railway and factories lined up along the river, while residential districts spread up the side valleys and slopes. Forest fills the gaps between them, so the built-up areas look like separate fingers rather than one compact mass.
Ennepetal is best known for the Kluterthöhle, a large cave system beneath the town that has long been used for respiratory therapy. An Ennepetal map poster stays above ground. It traces the river, the valley roads, the wooded ridges and the scattered districts across the hills in clean, even black lines.

Hillside districts
Residential areas climb the slopes and side valleys, so the streets wind and loop along the contours instead of following a regular grid.
Forest between
Wooded ridges separate the different parts of town. They leave open space on the map, and each district reads as its own small shape.

Towns formed by merging older villages often feel like a patchwork, and people identify strongly with their own part. A map of Ennepetal shows Milspe, Voerde and the rest together, each in its valley, which makes it a good gift for anyone with ties to the area.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, so you can name a particular district or add a date. Pick one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Sand, and download 300 DPI files for $9 or order a matte printed poster.
