Esmeralda Map Poster & Print
Esmeralda is the head town of a municipality in the north of Camagüey Province, Cuba, in the low, level country between the centre of the island and its northern coast. From above the town reads as a tidy arrangement of streets and blocks, with roads leading out across the flat land toward farms, smaller settlements and the coastal region.
Like much of northern Camagüey, the area has long been tied to sugar cane and cattle, and the landscape around the town reflects that: large, open parcels divided by straight roads and tracks. On a map these rural lines extend the town's order far into the countryside, so the settlement appears as a knot in a much wider net.
An Esmeralda map poster works well because the town is small enough to show whole. Its streets, the approach roads and the edges where houses give way to fields fit comfortably in one frame, and the result is a clear, balanced drawing of a Cuban town that is rarely portrayed in print.

Flat plains
Level terrain lets roads run straight across the surrounding land, so the settlement seems to sit at the meeting point of long, clean lines.
Rural network
Tracks between fields and farms spread outward from the town on all sides, forming a quiet secondary pattern around the denser urban core.

Cubans abroad often keep something from home close by, and a map of the streets they grew up on is both personal and understated. It suits anyone with family ties to Esmeralda or memories of the Camagüey countryside.
