Espelkamp Map Poster & Print
Espelkamp lies in the Minden-Lübbecke district in the northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is one of the youngest towns in the state, founded after the Second World War on the grounds of a former army munitions facility hidden in the forest. It was built to house refugees and displaced people from the east, and its layout still shows that deliberate planning.
From above, the streets curve and loop through generous green space and woodland rather than following an old market-town pattern. Residential areas, schools and industrial zones sit in distinct clusters, connected by broad roads. The result is an unusually open, organised town plan with trees threaded through it.
An Espelkamp map poster shows a town that was designed rather than grown, and the map makes that visible: flowing streets, planned neighbourhoods and green buffers between them. For families who helped build it, and for later generations, it is a portrait of a place with a very particular beginning.

Woodland setting
Forest and green space run between neighbourhoods, leaving open areas on the map that recall the wooded site on which the town was built.
Distinct districts
Housing, schools and industry sit in separate clusters linked by main roads, making the town's planned structure readable at a glance.

Espelkamp's story of refugees building a new home gives its map a particular meaning for many families. A poster honours that history quietly, through the shape of the town rather than words or monuments.
You can add a family name, a founding year or your own text to the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cover six print sizes.
