Fengping Map Poster
Fengping lies in the Dehong area of western Yunnan, in the Mangshi region not far from the border with Myanmar. The land here is a series of broad, fertile valleys enclosed by forested hills. On a map, the town fills part of a flat valley floor, with a network of streets and roads surrounded by fields and scattered villages.
Dehong has a warm, subtropical climate, and the area is home to Dai and Jingpo communities among others. On the map this shows as a gentle rural pattern around the town. Farm tracks, irrigation channels and small settlements spread out over the valley until the slopes rise and the lines thin out.
A Fengping map poster brings out the quiet structure of a valley town. The built area forms a clear cluster, the roads link it to neighbouring places, and the hills around the valley show as an area of calm emptiness. In black and white it is an understated print from a corner of China few people know well.
