Gloucester Map Poster & Print
Gloucester was an independent township, and later a city, on the southeastern side of Ottawa until 2001, when it was amalgamated into the present City of Ottawa. On a map it covers a wide area between the Ottawa River to the north and the Rideau River to the west, stretching from inner suburbs out into open farmland.
Its landscape reflects Canadian suburban planning: winding crescents and cul-de-sacs grouped into neighbourhoods, framed by arterial roads and the Queensway. The National Capital Commission's Greenbelt cuts through the former township, preserving a band of forest, fields and wetland, and the Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport lies within its old boundaries.
A Gloucester map poster reads as a study in contrast: dense, looping residential streets beside the long runways of the airport and the broad, lightly marked Greenbelt. Blackburn Hamlet sits as an island of houses surrounded by that protected land, and many residents across the area still use the old township name.

Airport runways
Ottawa's international airport sits within Gloucester's historic boundaries, its crossing runways forming sharp, straight lines amid the softer residential patterns.
Suburban crescents
Neighbourhoods are laid out in curving streets, loops and cul-de-sacs, giving the map a flowing, organic texture that differs clearly from Ottawa's older grid.
