Guacarí Map Poster & Print
Guacarí lies in the Valle del Cauca, in the wide, flat valley between Colombia's Western and Central mountain ranges. On the map the town is a compact grid of Spanish colonial design, organised around a main square, with straight streets running in both directions until they reach the fields.
The land around it is almost entirely sugarcane, the main crop of the Cauca valley. On a map this appears as large, regular plots crossed by farm roads and irrigation channels. Guacarí is also known locally as a town of samán trees, the large shade trees that line many of its streets and squares.
A Guacarí map poster shows a classic valley town: a neat grid in the centre, surrounded by wide, geometric fields. Roads link it to Buga and other towns in the valley, and the edges of the frame fill with an almost regular pattern of cane plots. It is a calm and balanced design.
